Dalia Dippolito is an academy award winning actress. Oops, I’m sorry. She was a social escort hired by Michael Dippolito and it was love at first sight. Michael divorced his wife and married her. Dalia then made plans to get Michael who was under probation, thrown back in jail by planting drugs and calling the cops on him. Police became suspicious that somebody was trying to frame Michael and did not arrest him. Instead, they found Dalia suspicious.
In 2009, Dalia Dippolito hired a hitman to kill her husband. She thought she had succeeded because the police played along and set up the crime scene like the shooting of her husband really happened. It’s called 将计就计。Her reaction to the fake announcement that her husband was killed is truly award-winning. Unknown to her, she was brought in for questioning with the police already holding video evidence of her meeting with the “hitman”, an undercover police officer.
Actually, I thought they could have put on the show a little longer since no one was hurt. But then, the most entertaining and ridiculous part has to be that phone call where someone who tried to get you killed asks you for help without even making a lame attempt to redeem herself.
Dalia Dippolito was convicted in 2017 to soliciting first-degree murder and sentenced to 16 years in prison. An earlier conviction had been tossed on appeal, and her second trial ended in a hung jury.
