Huawei’s boss Ren Zheng Fei 任正非 had a first wife named Meng Zun 孟军. Together, they had a boy and a girl. The daughter is the notorious Meng Wan Zhou 孟晚舟.
The son was originally named Meng Ping 孟平; later changed his name to Ren Ping 任平。But why did Mr Ren let his children follow his wife’s surname？He once explained that it’s because he was indebted to the Meng family. Interestingly, they got divorced.
