I remember saving up this 2015 Time Magazine article. That was also my year of awakening from the “China dream”. 
If I had saved the article electronically, it would have probably been lost. Back then, Shi Yong Xin was well-protected by the authorities and the whistleblower was punished instead. I believe the Chinese media would have called it 西方炒作。
Makes me feel like subscribing to the printed Time Magazine again. That’s “Western media” for you.
