There are 3 mind poisons in Buddhism: greed, hatred, delusion. 躺平 is not a new phenomenon. This book remains one of my most valuable purchases in China.
The author 罗敷 migrated to Sweden near the turn of the century, escaping the rat race in China, becoming poorer but happier. Yet people who are clearly poisoned by greed, hatred, delusion (arrogance) keep comparing GDP, thinking that they are the model for the rest of the world to follow.
I doubt this book is still available in China. The author has already been cancelled on Baidu.
